Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on‑site CNC Mill Machinist role based in the Greater Chicago Area. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision components from aluminum and other alloys according to engineering drawings and specifications. Daily tasks include selecting and installing tooling, loading raw materials, adjusting machine offsets, and performing in‑process inspections to verify dimensions and surface finishes.
The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting basic machining issues, and collaborating with the quality and engineering teams to resolve production concerns. The CNC Machinist is also responsible for following safety procedures, documenting work, and supporting continuous improvement of machining processes.
- Proficiency in Machine Operation and Machinery, including setup, operation, and basic maintenance of CNC equipment.
- Hands‐on experience in Machining and Milling, with the ability to read blueprints and work from detailed drawings.
- Strong Quality Control skills, including the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and adherence to tight tolerances.
- Experience working with aluminum and various alloys in a precision manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with aerospace or defense manufacturing standards is a plus.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, maintain organized work areas, and document production activities accurately.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining or a related field is highly beneficial.
