Job Description
Packaging Associate shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (days)
Compensation:
- Competitive starting pay rate $18.74 - $19.82
Physical Requirements and
Qualifications:
- Stand approximately 10 hours and 50 minutes of a 12‑hour shift (70 minutes break).
- Reaching, handling, fingering, and feeling constantly present while performing job duties.
- Frequently turning body from 0 to a maximum of 180 degrees.
- Good eyesight essential for constant inspection of product; vision corrected with glasses or contact lenses acceptable.
- Frequent walking required; distance can exceed 50 feet.
- Bending frequently when making boxes (½ shift).
- Occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or talking may be required.
- Lifting up to 40 pounds (empty to full boxes); items include product, boxes (empty and full), plastic liner bags, tape, cleaning supplies, etc.
- Pushing and pulling occasionally; items moved include boxes, stands, product, regrind, inspection tables, etc.
- Controls required include hands/arms (both) and feet/legs (both).
- Environment includes inside work 100%, teamwork 100%, can be near or close to others, can be in excess of 95+ degrees during summer months.
- Vibration can occasionally be present from running machines.
- Noisy environment (noise levels 85 dB+ depending on work area).
- There is a mild plastic smell at times.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required: safety glasses, hearing protection, proper safety shoes, gloves, and a bump cap.
- GMP requirements include hair nets, beard nets, and routine hand washing.
- High‑visibility vest required in specific areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills; ability to work well in groups; handle conflict maturely.
- Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed.
- Must be able to stand for 10‑12 hours.
- Must be able to wear required PPE to enter the plant/complete tasks.
- Regular and timely attendance expected to avoid disruption.
- Must pass drug screen and background check.
