Please note this is a 12-Hour Night Shift (6 pm - 6 am with rotating weeks of M/TU/SAT/SUN, and W/TH/F).
The role holder reports directly to the Sr. Manufacturing Process Manager and is responsible for performing setup of injection molding molds including all auxiliary equipment, EOATs, starting the molds, addressing daily production-related issues, training into starting new molds, in-mold mold maintenance and documentation. Position is also responsible to ensure machines, molds, auxiliary equipment and associated automation operate efficiently.
Responsibilities- Perform startup and shutdown of production molds as required, and perform and confirm completion of mold change-overs (mold, aux. equip., EOAT, etc.).
- Safely operate forklift and overhead cranes for handling molds.
- Ensure that the correct mold and materials are being used.
- Perform minor in-press mold cleaning as needed.
- Ensure processes run consistently and provide production support as needed.
- Ensure functional and cosmetic product specifications are met by working with quality and engineering.
- Log and communicate any process changes to ensure process parameters are up to date.
- Maintain and follow 6S Principles including SMED.
- Ability to work 12-Hour Night Shift (6 pm - 6 am with rotating weeks of M/TU/SAT/SUN, and W/TH/F).
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 3+ years in injection molding processing.
- Experience with setup and startup of molds and other related equipment as it pertains to injection molding (robots, automation, auxiliary equipment, etc.).
- Technical knowledge of common injection molding issues as they may be related to mold, material, machine, and/or process issues.
- EOAT robot programming and setup.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems, and fluid power.
- Basic operating knowledge of computer programs in Microsoft including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent listening skills and ability to follow instructions. Ability to communicate technical problems to other team members.
- Motivated, organized, and eager to learn, with ability to effectively apply critical thinking skills in a timely manner.
