Description

The Tooling Maintenance Technician is responsible for preparing, inspecting, and maintaining production tooling to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations across both facility locations. This role plays a critical part in tooling readiness, documentation, and small-scale component fabrication through CNC operation. A proactive mindset, strong organizational skills, and mechanical aptitude are essential.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Tooling Preparation, Cleaning, maintaining, and Staging
  • Tooling Inspection & Documentation:
    Maintaining accurate tooling condition records and service history logs.
  • Operate CNC machinery to manufacture or modify components such as face plates, connector plates, and other tooling-related items as needed.
  • Collaboration & Support with production
  • Perform routine audits of tooling setups to ensure alignment with production standards.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Experience in plastic extrusion tooling
  • Familiarity with die/sizer setups
  • Proficient in using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • Experience with ERP or tooling management software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, setup sheets, and mechanical drawings
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
Education and Experience
  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT (TECHNICAL CERTIFICATION PREFERRED)
  • 2+ YEARS IN TOOLING, MAINTENANCE, OR CNC MACHINING ROLE (EXTRUSION OR PLASTICS INDUSTRY PREFERRED)
  • PROFICIENT IN READING BLUEPRINTS, SETUP SHEETS, AND MECHANICAL DRAWINGS
  • BASIC TO INTERMEDIATE CNC MILLING MACHINE EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED)
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a shop‑floor environment
