Plant Safety & Environmental Compliance Coordinator On-site | Aurora, Illinois Pretium Packaging—a North American leader in injection-blow molded plastic containers with 17 facilities—delivers high-quality, innovative packaging to brand owners across the U.S. and Canada.

Role snapshot

Partner broadly:
Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and plant leadership to strengthen safety culture and reduce risk.

Own compliance:
Maintain OSHA/EHS documentation; run audits and risk assessments; lead investigations and corrective actions.

Drive environmental programs:
Waste management, emissions, stormwater, chemical handling, and regulatory reporting.

Level up skills across the plant:
Deliver training on LOTO; PPE and hazard communication; machine guarding; ergonomics; emergency response.

Prepare for the unexpected:
Fire safety, evacuation, spill response, and medical emergency planning; drills and ERT support.

Core responsibilities

Support and continuously improve the site’s EHS program to comply with OSHA and environmental regulations.

Plan and execute routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; conduct root cause analyses; implement and verify corrective actions.

Maintain accurate OSHA logs and site compliance records.

Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and storage; assist with environmental inspections and reporting.

Partner with operations to identify hazards associated with plastics processing equipment, robotics/automation, compressed air systems, and material handling/resins.

Support implementation of engineering and administrative controls; track safety metrics; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Engage employees through safety committees and site-wide initiatives that strengthen culture.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience:

2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing required; plastics, injection molding, blow molding, or industrial manufacturing strongly preferred.

Certifications (Preferred): OSHA 30; CHST or ASP (or similar);
First Aid/CPR/AED.

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance; incident investigation and root cause analysis; ability to influence employees and leaders; strong documentation/organization; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Language:
Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency strongly preferred (read, write, speak).Impact and growth
