Job Description

The Mail Room Associate works in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled production environment and is responsible for unpacking, sorting, and organizing incoming mail and orders. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to perform highly repetitive tasks while standing for the entire shift, and a reliable attendance record. The position offers a guaranteed 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for cross-training in data entry and assembly for strong performers.

Responsibilities

  • Unpack incoming mail and materials in the mail room with a high level of accuracy.
  • Sort mail and new orders according to established procedures and labeling requirements.
  • Pick, pack, label, and organize items as part of the mail handling and order preparation process.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work table and personal workspace while processing mail.
  • Perform highly repetitive tasks consistently and efficiently throughout the entire shift.
  • Stand for the duration of the workday while handling mail and related materials.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and company standards in all mail room activities.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to ensure smooth workflow and timely processing of orders.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality for the 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday schedule.
  • Participate in interviews and provide a resume that reflects willingness to learn and strong work ethic.
  • For those cross-trained, perform basic data entry tasks using a computer to process orders and information.
  • For those cross-trained, assist with simple assembly tasks related to medical devices as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to stand for an entire shift in a production or similar environment.
  • Strong attention to detail when unpacking, sorting, labeling, and organizing mail and orders.
  • Demonstrated record of good attendance and reliability in previous roles.
  • Willingness to perform extremely repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a quick-paced environment while maintaining quality and organization.
  • Basic computer familiarity, with at least 6 months of experience operating a computer and performing data entry preferred.
  • Effective communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks, including data entry and assembly, as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Any prior experience in mail room, warehouse, pick/pack, or similar production environments.
  • Experience with labeling, sorting, and packing processes.
  • Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment with established GMP standards.
  • Ability to interview and present a professional resume highlighting reliability and adaptability.
  • Openness to cross-training in data entry and assembly to expand responsibilities over time.
