World Relief Overview
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war‑torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.
Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
As an Employment Specialist, you will walk alongside newly arrived refugees, asylees, and other immigrants, while also supporting ongoing clients through their employment journey as they build foundational stability and progress toward long‑term career mobility. In this role, you will help clients become economically self‑sufficient by preparing them for employment, utilizing WRDA’s extensive employer contacts to place them in jobs, and offering counseling on job upgrades and career pathway opportunities.
You will also support clients in identifying both immediate and long‑term career goals, guiding them through the steps needed to achieve advancement into higher skilled, higher wage roles, including referring them, when ready, to Career Pathways services and/or educational programming that aligns with their advancement goals. Finally, you will maintain and expand a strong employer network that creates accessible, quality opportunities for clients at every stage of their employment journey, whether they are securing their first U.S. job or seeking growth in their careers.
