Bed Coordinator – PRN
• RN Required
Coordinates patient placement throughout the organization to optimize throughput, working collaboratively with departmental leaders and medical staff.
Responsibilities- Collect pertinent data and information related to patient health or the situation.
- Assist the VP of Patient Care Continuum/CNO and other department leaders to advance organizational objectives.
- Attend daily Bed Management meetings to facilitate patient flow.
- Collaborate with Nursing Supervisor or Departmental Leaders to support patient care.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Plan and evaluate care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines.
- Analyze assessment data to determine potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes, reporting data and outcomes as appropriate.
- Facilitate formal and informal lines of communication between departments and nursing.
- Implement care plans in alignment with safety, infection control, and department/organization standards.
- Pursue required knowledge and skills through orientation, current literature, and learning opportunities.
- Make bed assignments based on diagnosis, age, gender, isolation requirements, bed availability, unit activities, staffing variances, and patient care needs.
- Identify expected outcomes for individualized patient plans.
- Develop a plan prescribing strategies to attain measurable outcomes.
- Promote effective communication between the Nursing Division and Medical Staff.
- Establish effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other health‑care team members.
- Employ teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
Estimated hourly rate: $33.73 – $52.28 (pay based on experience).
