Position: RN (Labor & Delivery) - 7pm-7:30am *$10,000 sign-on bonus!

Job Summary

RN (Labor & Delivery) – 7pm to 7:30am, weekend and holiday rotation. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery and provides clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assesses patients' conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members.
  • Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation, recognizing normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
  • Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
  • Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
  • Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
  • Documents and reports care delivered to the physicians and other team members as needed.
  • Enhances professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, and team building annually (in addition to required unit/patient specific education).
  • Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team.
  • Identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes; reports data and outcomes to the physician and/or other disciplines.
  • Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards.
  • Actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the unit, unit-based in‑service programs, reading current literature, and seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to the health care team during the assigned shift.
  • Provides performance feedback to team members; input to Manager/Director regarding appraisals.
  • Serves as a strong, positive role model for other health care team members.
  • Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Qualifications
  • Active RN in the State of Illinois.
  • ADN or B.S.N required.
  • ADN (Required) ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Registered Nurse – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Compensation and Benefits

Estimated compensation range: $37.23 – $57.71 hourly, pay based on experience.
