Registered Nurse (2 South)
Shift: 7pm-7:30am, weekend and holiday rotation.
Compensation: $37.23 - $57.71 per hour, $10,000 sign-on bonus. Pay based on experience.
Responsibilities- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
- Assess patients’ conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members.
- Collect pertinent data and information relative to the patient’s health or the situation, recognizing normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
- Coordinate bed and patient care assignments during the shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
- Document and report care delivered to physicians and other team members as needed.
- Enhance professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, and team building annually (in addition to required unit/patient-specific education).
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes, reporting data and outcomes to physicians and other disciplines as appropriate.
- Implement care and supervise care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards.
- Actively pursue required knowledge and skills through orientation activities, unit-based in-service programs, reading current literature, and seeking new clinical learning opportunities in collaboration with the leader/director.
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Plan and evaluate care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
- Provide leadership and supervision to the health care team during the assigned shift.
- Provide performance feedback to team members, and input to Manager/Director regarding appraisals.
- Establish effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team.
- Identify and confer with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.
- Serve as a strong, positive role model for other health care team members.
- Employ teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) required.
- Experience in long-term care settings preferred.
- On-site classroom learning programs.
