Position: Registered Nurse (ED) - 3pm-3:30am

Position Overview

Registered Nurse (ED) – Shift 3:00pm–3:30am. Registered Nurses are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. The RN provides clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

Responsibilities
  • Advocates for quality outcomes for patients.
  • Applies nursing process to patients and family education to promote the patient’s management of own healthcare.
  • Assesses based on patient’s communication of information and need, existing signs and symptoms, current patient data, and nursing knowledge.
  • Assesses patients’ conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members.
  • Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient’s health or the situation.
  • Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
  • Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
  • Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines.
  • Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
  • Documents and reports care delivered to physicians and other team members as needed.
  • Documents assessment data, nursing interventions, and patient outcomes.
  • Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data and reports data and outcomes as appropriate to physician and/or other disciplines.
  • Enhances professional growth through education related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, and team building annually.
  • Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes.
  • Reports data and outcomes to others as appropriate.
  • Implements care or work plan in alignment with the plan and approved safety, infection control, and department/organization standards.
  • Actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the position, reading current literature, and seeking new learning opportunities.
  • Obtains and maintains professional knowledge by completing required knowledge and skills through orientation and competency activities specific to the unit, unit-based in-service programs, reading current literature, and seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
  • Identifies expected outcomes for an individualized plan.
  • Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
  • Pursues advanced degree, certification, committee involvement, evidence-based practice, and continuing education.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to healthcare team during assigned shift.
  • Provides performance feedback to team members, input to Manager/Director regarding appraisals.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the healthcare/work team.
  • Clarifies resources regarding patient/work decisions.
  • Serves as a strong, positive role model for other healthcare team members.
  • Supports relationship-based care by providing compassionate, holistic care to patients, families, and co-workers and promoting a safe, caring, and healing environment.
  • Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • A.D.N, Active RN in the State of IL.
  • Hours:

    3pm–3am, weekend and holiday rotation.
Certification & Licensing
  • ADN (Required).
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 days of hire).
  • BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire).
  • PALS (within 1 year of hire).
  • RN – Registered Nurse – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course Certification (within 90 days of hire).
Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Compensation Range: $37.23 – $57.71 per hour, pay based on experience.
