  • CRNA to MD Ratio: 2:1 (MDs supervise CRNAs and perform cases)
  • Case Mix: General anesthesia, Orthopedic (Ortho), Obstetric (OB)
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA); hospital-based anesthesia experience preferred
  • Current RN license in Illinois (compact or state license as applicable)
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Current certification from the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
  • BLS/ACLS and other facility-required certifications (per facility policy)
  • Strong teamwork, communication, perioperative assessment, and patient-centered care skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and perioperative evaluations for surgical and obstetric patients
  • Obtain and verify informed consent for anesthesia; explain anesthetic options and risks to patients
  • Induce, maintain, and manage emergence from anesthesia across a broad case mix (general, ortho, OB)
  • Monitor intraoperative physiology and intervene appropriately to ensure patient safety
  • Document anesthesia care accurately in Epic/iPro and perform clear handoffs to PACU and perioperative staff
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, OR nurses, and perioperative teams to deliver safe, patient-focused care
