Position Overview

Rush Copley Medical Center, in Aurora, Illinois, part of the Rush University System for Health invites applications for the position of Inpatient General/Non-Invasive Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider.

Department and Team

The Cardiology team includes one dedicated General/Non-Invasive Physician and two Advanced Practice Providers. The team collaborates closely to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, including early detection and screening programs, an outpatient chest pain center, and advanced cardiovascular techniques.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to assess, diagnose, and manage cardiovascular conditions.
  • Perform patient evaluations, coordinate care transitions, and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
  • Schedule:

    Average 40 patient‑facing hours per week inpatient.
  • Enhance inpatient access and continuity of care, supporting both acute and long‑term management of cardiac patients across the continuum of care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • APRN candidates will require Acute Care Certification if doing inpatient work.
  • Position Requirements

    Nurse Practitioner

    • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain licensure through IDFPR.
    • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position.
    • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP).
    • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

    Physician Assistant

    • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain licensure through IDFPR.
    • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program.
    • Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
    • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
    Benefits and Compensation
    • Pay range: $108,264 - $162,385.
    • Competitive total compensation including base pay, benefits, and incentive programs.
