Role Overview
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care, assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, documenting care, and evaluating outcomes. They ensure a safe, therapeutic environment, collaborate with departments for patient admissions and transfers, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. The nurse participates in interdisciplinary planning, department improvement initiatives, and staff training, while supervising direct care as needed and working within budget constraints.
Qualifications & SkillsRequires a nursing degree, current Illinois RN license, CPR certification, and CPI certification within 90 days. Preferred experience includes psychiatric care and knowledge of abnormal psychology. Confidentiality and strong communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
- Ensure safety and therapeutic milieu; oversee staff supervision.
- Facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges with proper communication.
- Collaborate on treatment planning and participate in department improvements.
- Mentor staff, participate in training, and promote professional development.
