Doggie Daycare Caregiver

Indian Prairie Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Doggie Daycare Caregiver. The ideal person for this position understands the safety and priority of the animals in their care.

They should be an independent and reliable self-starter with lots of energy and a passion for dogs.

• Exhibit a confident and professional demeanor even when stressed and/or focusing on individual tasks.
• Provide compassionate care to patients.
• Monitor multiple dogs playing in a group at once.
• Confidently give dayboarder evaluations to ensure a new dog plays well with others.
• Ensure all kennel/daycare staff receive animals, properly identify them, and record items into charts as necessary.
• Ensure all overnight and dayboarder boarding charges and services requested are completed and charges are entered, including tracking dayboarder days until the free play day.
• Communicate with owners and make them feel comfortable leaving their pet(s) in our care.
• Sends correspondence emails to clients confirming reservations and pet needs prior to boarder check-in.
• Double-checks that vaccinations are current for upcoming boarder reservations.
• Keeps reservations updated for regular dayboarders.
• Follows a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing all cages, runs, wards, and related areas; changes litter boxes and food/water bowls.
• Provides weekly updates to the practice manager and head technician.
• Understands and carries out oral and written directions.

Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees while maintaining confidentiality.

• Prior experience working with dogs.
• Compassion, patience, and reliability.
• The ability to walk, run, pull, push, bend or reach.
• The ability to lift up to 30-40 pounds.
• Capable of handling all sizes of canines from small to large.

  From $13.50 per hour.
