Job Description

Compensation: $21.85 to $32.78 an hour - paid weekly (Based on Experience)

Shifts available: (E Shift) 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

The Site Hourly Safety Lead plays an active role in the location’s safety and health programs to prevent injury, improve compliance, and enhance employee engagement.

  • Active participant on all location employee‑led team projects.
  • Communicate team projects to peers and location leaders.
  • Serve as the location subject‑matter expert on Behavior Based Safety (BBS) and train co‑workers on the BBS Program.
  • Conduct safety training (monthly, refresher, initial, etc.) for peers, new hires, visitors, and vendors when appropriate.
  • Audit on‑the‑job training for gaps and help correct identified gaps.
  • Participate in Tier I and Tier II sessions; maintain safety board updates and follow‑ups from those sessions.
  • Train leaders and peers on the 1‑on‑1 Engagements and Near Miss Reporting Programs; analyze data for trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Follow up on safety flashes/alerts from other locations.
  • Honor site‑specific standard work activities assigned to the Site Safety Lead.
  • Other tasks aligned with compliance, injury prevention, and employee engagement initiatives.
Safety
  • Seek to understand and support a safety culture and workplace.
  • Remain aware of surroundings and obtain knowledge of all required PPE for the job.
  • Follow all required safety procedures for each task.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Report any safety concern, risk, hazard, near miss, or injury immediately to the appropriate supervisor on shift.
Quality
  • Follow all GMP guidelines required by the site and for each workstation.
  • Inspect all product passing through the workstation for defects or concerns.
  • Report any product quality concerns immediately to appropriate supervision on shift.
Qualifications
  • Passionate about safety related to employee engagement, compliance, and injury prevention.
  • Baseline knowledge of programs such as Lockout/Tagout, PPE, Machine Guarding, Forklift Safety, BBS, 1‑on‑1 Engagements, Employee‑Led Teams, etc.
  • Basic Microsoft skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Competent with a calculator and ruler/tape measure.
  • Proficient in English (read, write, speak).
  • Capable of communicating in front of large groups and interacting with peers and site leaders.
  • Reliable and dependable in completing work assignments.
  • Accomplished in coaching peers; willing to coach leaders.
  • Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily Monday through Friday.
  • May need to work weekends, holidays, or alternative shifts.
  • Non‑traditional schedules will be planned and coordinated in advance.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing for lengthy periods (frequent).
  • Sitting for extended periods (frequent).
  • Climbing stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional).
  • Working in a manufacturing environment with hot/cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, odors, and moving equipment (frequent).
  • Working at ground level (frequent).
  • Occasional work outside the manufacturing plant or on the property.
  • Occasional roof access.
