Lab Technician
Job Description
The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory analysis and working hands-on at the bench. This role involves completing all relevant laboratory reports, maintaining an up-to-date understanding of laboratory analysis methods, and assisting with the maintenance and calibration of equipment. The technician must adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures and prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct laboratory analysis with hands-on bench work.
+ Complete all applicable laboratory reports.
+ Maintain current knowledge of laboratory analysis methods.
+ Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration.
+ Adhere to laboratory safety and reporting techniques.
+ Follow internal standards, policies, and procedures.
+ Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Chemistry, Laboratory, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Associate Degree in a science discipline.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related science field (New graduates welcome).
+ Experience in crude oil assay distillation per ASTM D2892 and ASTM D5236.
+ Experience in Wet Chemistry, QC, GMP.

+ Ability to work with chemicals, petrochemicals, and petroleum products.
+ Proficiency in D5002, D97, UOP 163, D4294 for Crude Assay Technician.
+ Competence in reading and interpreting data, tables, graphs, control charts, and completing raw data sheets.
+ Ability to compute rates, ratios, percents, and material quantities.
+ Capability to synthesize and evaluate information for crude assay trending properties.
Work Environment
The role operates Monday through Friday on the 2nd Shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The Lab Technician will work within a team of 4-5 lab technicians.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Aurora, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
