Job Title:
Global Technology & Innovation Safety Lead
Job Description:
The Role Entegris is currently seeking a Global Technology & Innovation Safety Lead to join our Materials Solutions Technology & Innovation Operations team. This position will be based in our Aurora, IL facility. In this role, you will strengthen the T&I organization’s ability to prevent incidents, eliminate repeat events, and build a “safety always” culture by driving rigorous root cause analysis (RCA), 8D execution, and global lessons learned implementation.
This role plays a critical part in safety by ensuring that incidents, near misses, and observations are systematically analyzed, translated into high quality corrective actions, and embedded across the global T&I network. This role owns T&I safety metrics and leadership reporting, ensuring clear visibility into risks, trends, and performance. By proactively identifying systemic gaps, driving disciplined corrective action, and enabling digital and AI driven improvements to safety practices, the role ensures T&I teams operate safely, consistently, and with a strong learning mindset across all sites.
Drive RCA and 8D Excellence and Global Learning (Rigor and Accountability) Standardize and coordinate RCA, 8D, and lessons learned activities for T&I safety incidents, near misses, and key observations across the global T&I organization. Establish and enforce expectations for depth of analysis to ensure true root causes are identified and not symptoms. Translate findings into scalable lessons learned and ensure they are effectively communicated and adopted across sites.
Ensure root cause analysis outputs are systematically linked to updates in SOPs, training materials, and onboarding practices to prevent recurrence. Ensure High Quality Corrective Action Implementation (Prevention and Impact) Track and drive closure of corrective and preventive actions globally, maintaining clear accountability and visibility. Challenge low impact or administrative corrective actions and elevate action quality by promoting stronger, more effective measures that address system level risks through engineering and systemic controls.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively, validated, and sustained over time. Ensure actions related to human factors, training gaps, or procedural weaknesses are incorporated into training programs, onboarding, and competency requirements.
Own Safety Metrics and Leadership Reporting (Clarity and Transparency) Own T&I safety metrics, dashboards, and reporting processes for leadership updates. Develop clear, audit ready views of incident trends, repeat events, corrective action effectiveness, and leading indicators. Provide regular insights to T&I and site leadership to enable proactive decision making and risk mitigation. Ensure alignment of T&I metrics with broader EHS frameworks while maintaining focus on T&I specific risks.
Own T&I Safety Training, Competency, and Onboarding Systems (Capability and Sustainability) Define and maintain a global T&I safety training and competency matrix aligned to role, hazard exposure, and work activities, ensuring clear requirements for all personnel, contractors, and visitors. Establish standardized processes to assess training effectiveness, identify skill gaps, and drive targeted upskilling across the T&I organization. Reinvigorate T&I safety onboarding programs to ensure new employees are fully prepared to operate safely, with emphasis on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and site-specific risks prior to independent work.
Implement mechanisms to verify competency and understanding, not just training completion, particularly for high risk activities and environments. Enable a “Safety Always” Culture (Engagement and Influence) Promote an environment where incident reporting, near miss identification, and learning are expected and reinforced. Drive adoption of lessons learned to prevent recurrence of similar events across sites and programs. Reinforce accountability, transparency, and continuous learning following safety events.
Drives the organization’s safety culture by embedding continuous…
