Store Manager In Training (SMIT)
The SMIT program is a development-focused role crafted to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. Through 16 weeks of self‑paced, collaborative training, you will learn leadership, merchandising, inventory management, and customer service skills with support from a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support and lead your team.
- Provide high levels of customer care to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Execute merchandising strategies that support store sales growth.
- Maintain store inventory and assets to uphold profitability.
- Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to progress toward promotion.
- Support the store as a management‑team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Encourage colleagues to support the company’s purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
- Accept promotion roles in the market where you work and be willing to relocate within the designated market.
- Transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market and work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
- High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Willingly accept promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores located within the designated market.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
- Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with all federal, state and local laws.
Anticipated weekly hours: 40 (Full‑time).Pay range: $18.50 – $23.88 per hour (or equivalent annual salary). Pay offer will vary based on experience, education, geography and other factors.
