Retail Assistant Store Manager

Hourly Pay: $17.50 to $20.50 per hour. Employees receive a commission structure that pays up to 8% on applicable transactions, potentially adding approximately $10.07 per hour on top of the base hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with at least six months of management or key experience. The role manages day‑to‑day store operations, partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop employees, recruits and retains talent, maximizes financial goals, and manages customer relations and satisfaction. The assistant also analyzes financial statements, supports the asset protection program, promotes the business, and targets new customer acquisitions across all product lines.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers professionally and resolving issues rapidly.
  • Assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent via company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, ensuring all asset protection procedures are followed.
  • Maintain asset protection through inventory control, property safety, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of all loans.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of store mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain current on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification if required.
  • May be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve items from external storage.
  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to work at multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Flexibility to work a retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Assistant Store Managers will work 40+ hours per week; hours are not guaranteed.
  • Computer literate and able to operate Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
