Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Security Systems Consultant / Business Development Hunter located in Aurora, IL. This position is heavily focused on new revenue generation and is best suited for a self-starter who thrives on outbound prospecting and closing net-new business
.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building their own pipeline from the ground up through cold outreach, personal and professional networks, industry relationships, and active participation in networking events. This role is not dependent on company-provided leads
. Consistent prospecting activity and new account acquisition are core expectations.
In addition to driving new business, the consultant will act as a trusted advisor—leading client discovery, performing security assessments, designing tailored solutions, and managing opportunities from initial contact through contract execution and handoff to implementation teams.
Responsibilities- Generate net-new revenue through aggressive outbound prospecting, cold calling, email outreach, referrals, and in-person networking
- Build and maintain a self-sourced sales pipeline with minimal reliance on inbound leads
- Identify and pursue new logos across commercial, enterprise, and institutional markets
- Lead discovery conversations to uncover operational, compliance, and risk-based security needs
- Design, present, and close customized security system solutions
- Own the full sales cycle—from first contact through contract close
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, forecasts, and opportunity documentation
- Demonstrated success in hunting new business through cold outreach and relationship-driven selling
- Strong comfort level initiating conversations with decision-makers and influencers
- Proven ability to build trust quickly and sell complex, consultative solutions
- Solid understanding of security systems, system integration, or adjacent technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to align solutions with client risk profiles
- Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable for results
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
