Summary:

Outside Sales Representative Trainee

As a Sales Trainee in our Jumpstart Program, you will gain hands‑on experience during our 9‑month training course encompassing all aspects of the Sunbelt Rentals sales process. Each individual will receive training on the vast array of products and services we offer and the resources that equip our sales team for success. Our goal is to blend classroom training, job shadowing and hands‑on activities as the trainee rotates throughout the business.

Trainees will spend time in each of Sunbelt Rentals’ lines of business to truly understand each’s unique offerings. Successfully completing the program will position you for an exciting and lucrative career in sales.

• Participate in a structured 90‑day training period, traveling approximately 75% of the time nationwide.
• Receive hands‑on training in the installation of temporary fabric structures.
• Rotate through Sunbelt’s lines of business, gaining exposure to product knowledge and sales processes.
• Perform responsibilities expected of an Outside Sales Representative upon completion of the program.

• Minimum age 21 years.
• Must be open to relocation upon completion of the program.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associate’s degree plus one year of related experience.
• Previous experience in sales or customer service preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and acceptable driving record.

This position includes a 90‑day training period during which the employee will travel approximately 75% of the time nationwide (typically three weeks on the road followed by one week off). During this period, the employee will receive hands‑on training in the installation of temporary fabric structures and must be able to pass a drug screening.

• Strong oral and written communication skills; solid negotiation and influencing skills a plus.
• Exposure to the construction industry is preferred but not required.
• High level of accountability, time management and willingness to learn all aspects of the business.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.

The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.

$21.63 - 29.06 per hour. The starting rate may vary based on location, education, training, and/or experience.
