Business Development Manager – Commercial Construction
About Hanna Design Group
Hanna Design Group, Inc. is a nationally recognized commercial general contractor specializing in fast-track retail build-outs and ground-up construction projects throughout the United States. We partner with regional and national brands to deliver high-quality construction solutions in fast-paced environments where relationships, responsiveness, and execution matter.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to help expand our network, strengthen industry relationships, increase market visibility, and support the long-term growth of our business.
About the Opportunity
- We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to help expand our presence nationally in the commercial construction market. This is an opportunity to join a growing National General Contractor and play a key role in developing new business, building strategic relationships, and driving long-term revenue growth.
- This is not an account management position. We are looking for a true commercial construction business developer who enjoys identifying opportunities, opening doors, cultivating relationships, and creating a strong pipeline of commercial construction projects.
- Working closely with executive leadership, preconstruction, estimating, operations, and marketing teams, you will help develop and execute growth strategies while representing the company throughout the commercial real estate and construction community.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new commercial construction opportunities within targeted markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, brokers, property managers, asset managers, facility directors, municipalities, and other key decision-makers.
- Generate qualified leads of national brands through networking, industry associations, referrals, prospecting, cold outreach, and market research.
- Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities using CRM software.
- Schedule and conduct client meetings, presentations, site visits, and networking events.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, events, and etc.
- Establish long-term relationships with national brands that position the company as a preferred construction partner.
- Monitor market trends, development activity, permit data, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify strategic growth opportunities within commercial sectors.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with bidding, preconstruction, and operations teams to develop winning proposals and presentations.
- Assist with RFQ/RFP responses, qualifications packages, and client presentations.
- Coordinate pursuit strategies and support go/no-go decisions.
- Ensure smooth transition of projects from business development through preconstruction and project execution.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, prospect lists, and opportunity tracking.
- Forecast pipeline activity and provide regular reports on sales performance and projected revenue.
- Track business development metrics, client interactions, and market activity.
- Recommend improvements to business development processes and growth strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.
- 3–7+ years of business development, sales, or client relationship experience.
- Commercial construction, general contracting, architecture, engineering, commercial real estate, property management, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success generating new business and developing long‑term client relationships.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction sales cycles and relationship‑driven business development.
- Experience supporting proposals, RFQs, and RFPs is preferred.
- CRM experience (Hub Spot, Salesforce, or similar) preferred.
