Position: Service Technician I

About the Position

At Kenco Logistics, Service Technician I performs general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all material handling equipment, automated systems, and conveyors for Kenco Fleet Services.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE), batteries, automated systems, and conveyors in accordance with site and OEM standards.
  • Schedule and record Planned Maintenance (PM) for all fleet services equipment, automated systems, and conveyors.
  • Execute PM procedures per OEM specifications and guidelines and maintain accurate records.
  • Create and process work orders in the maintenance management system.
  • Use manuals, repair guides, and parts diagrams to troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, transmissions, automated systems, and conveyors.
  • Manage equipment condition and support repair readiness by reporting damage and maintaining accurate service and inventory records.
  • Communicate with the Parts team regarding parts and supplies needed to maintain equipment.
  • Maintain parts inventory and repair records by completing accurate paperwork.
  • Conduct safety equipment tests to ensure OSHA and operational standards.
  • Work toward achieving site‑specific Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and metrics.
  • Interact with customers and coworkers professionally.
  • Adhere to 5S workplace organization principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Support the Kenco Operating System by identifying ways to work more safely, efficiently, and effectively, and sharing improvement ideas.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or technical school graduate (required).
  • 0–2 years of mechanic experience, preferably with repair and maintenance of material handling equipment, automated systems, or conveyors.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple types of equipment and systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
  • Self‑motivated, self‑directed, highly responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs.
  • Must supply own mechanic technician hand tools.
  • Must be able to safely operate lift trucks.

Travel Requirements
  • Estimated travel 25% or less. Passport not required, but recommended.

Compensation

Approximate pay range: $21.58 – $32.37 per hour.
