Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 annually

SUMMARY

As a Field Supervisor, you will travel extensively, supervise a team of Field Technicians, and perform general labor tasks in a variety of settings, including abandoned warehouses, industrial facilities, or outdoor areas. Supervises and performs a range of tasks required for industrial service operations such as tank cleaning, pipeline maintenance, manual remediation services, waste bulking, and demolition services, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

This position will also respond to emergency response calls with limited notice and has the opportunity to make a difference in environmental compliance.

This position requires 40-50% overnight travel, a high degree of flexibility, and 2+ years in hazardous clean‑up.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain safety standards and requirements at all times for the entire crew.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as skid steer, mini‑excavator, etc.
  • Perform general labor tasks including manual digging, site preparation, site clean‑up, operation of hand tools, light machinery and sharp tools.
  • Load hoses, chemicals and other equipment required for assigned jobs onto truck.
  • Assist in the operation of equipment or power tools.
  • Clean up work area and equipment after work is completed.
  • Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps and general work area.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork including service receipts, job logs, time records, maintenance reports.
  • Work in confined spaces wearing full or half face respirator.
  • After completing on the job training, duties may include vacuum truck operation, hydro blasting, ice blasting and tank cleaning.
  • After completing on the job training, duties may include operation of extremely high pressured water blast equipment to clean heavy industrial equipment (pipe, boilers, tanks, heat exchangers, bundles, etc).
  • Safely perform manual labor.
  • Travel up to 50% via driving a company vehicle.
COMPETENCIES
  • Interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments.
  • Have general knowledge of operations and ability to safely operate assigned equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as skid steer, mini‑excavator, etc.
  • Wearing full and half face respirator.
  • Meet DOT physical requirements.
  • Demonstrate continued knowledge of HAZWOPER and OSHA regulations and requirements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience for a team of 2‑4 technicians.
  • One (1) year heavy equipment operating experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker and airbrake endorsements.
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER certified.
  • CPR/First Aid qualified.
  • One (1) year job costing experience.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Handling waste for remediation, sampling, packaging and labeling various wastes.
  • Perform industrial maintenance.
  • Promote a positive working environment to achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed mostly in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions such as dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures for long periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. Work in diverse environments such as confined spaces, various heights, and storage tanks.

Work outdoors in all weather conditions; extreme heat, cold, dry or wet environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds. Sitting 10%, standing/walking 90%.
