Duties & Responsibilities
Salary: $29.96 - $37.45/hour. Final date to receive applications:
Sunday, June 1, 2025, or until a qualified pool is obtained.
- Lead a team in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water transmission and distribution systems.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs.
- Oversee work assignments and review team performance.
- Operate specialized equipment and coordinate daily activities.
- Troubleshoot water system issues and provide customer service during emergencies.
- Maintain records and assist in training personnel.
- Respond to water, wastewater, and stormwater emergencies, including snow removal and standby duties.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least three years of responsible experience in water system maintenance, preferably with pressure control valves.
- Knowledge of water system hydraulics, safety practices, blueprint reading, and SCADA systems.
- Skills in operating valves, hydrants, and tools safely; training personnel; hazard recognition; and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand complex instructions, establish effective relationships, communicate effectively, and work overtime with a 45-minute response time.
- Licenses:
Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement;
Colorado Water Distribution 2 or Wastewater Collection 2. - Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, working outdoors in all weather, and operating various tools and equipment.
- Work environment involves outdoor terrain, confined spaces, and exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
- Essential personnel may be required to work during emergencies.
- Applicants must pass criminal background checks and drug screening.
- Veterans should include military service documentation in their application.
