The Shop Foreman will play a key role in coordinating technician assignments, supporting diagnostics, managing warranty processes, and helping drive an efficient, safe, and positive shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily shop operations to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Assign and dispatch repair work based on technician skill level, workload, priorities, and customer needs.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting assistance for complex repairs.
  • Review repair orders, technician notes, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform quality control inspections and verify repairs meet manufacturer specifications before equipment release.
  • Support technicians with advanced diagnostics involving diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC, air systems, brakes, and suspension.
  • Manage and assist with warranty processes, CORS claims, and OEM-related service requirements.
  • Utilize service management systems, diagnostic software, and tools such as ASIST to improve workflow and repair accuracy.
  • Monitor shop productivity, communicate repair status, and help remove workflow obstacles.
  • Assist with parts coordination and ensure proper documentation of repairs and service history.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop technicians through knowledge sharing and hands-on training.
  • Promote a safety-first culture while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of experience in a heavy-duty diesel, truck, fleet, or dealership repair environment preferred.
  • Previous Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, or technician leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong heavy-duty diesel diagnostic and repair experience required.
  • Experience assigning work, dispatching technicians, or managing daily shop workflow preferred.
  • Knowledge of warranty processes, CORS, and OEM service programs preferred.
  • Experience using diagnostic software and service management systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASIST or similar OEM platforms highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC, air brake systems, and suspension components.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Welding, fabrication, and general equipment repair experience a plus.
  • Ability to lead by example while working in a fast-paced service environment.
