About the Role

Senior Engineering Manager – Marketplace Engineering ()
Remote (may require onsite interviews for final hiring stage). Build and evolve core platform services, guiding a team that delivers value to dealer customers and shapes the broader engineering landscape.

• Lead a high‑performing engineering team that owns backend services and front‑end applications.
• Translate quarterly and annual business goals into measurable roadmaps and sprint backlogs.
• Champion engineering best practices: observability, security, modular architecture, and incident management.
• Serve as incident commander and steward of production reliability for your domain.
• Influence cross‑domain integrations, architectural decisions, and component strategy to unlock new revenue streams.
• Coach, mentor, and develop talent, fostering a culture of psychological safety and continuous learning.
• Manage capacity, forecasting, and operational metrics (DORA, MTTR, change‑failure rate, etc.) to drive predictable outcomes.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to build a diverse pipeline, conduct structured interviews, and make evidence‑based hiring decisions.

• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• Proven track record shipping and operating business‑critical backend and front‑end services at scale.
• Strong background in cloud‑native architectures (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS) and event‑driven, API‑driven systems.
• Experience with Jira, DORA metrics, and continuous delivery practices.
• Excellent communication skills, able to tailor technical explanations to engineers, product managers, and executives.
