Position Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating power industrial trucks for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. They are accountable for safe and efficient vehicle operation, and may also perform order filler and checker duties. Responsibilities include accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product in line with company safety, security, and productivity standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations and input data accurately into WMS.
  • Efficiently stack and store product and maintain an organized work area.
  • Pull and prepare shipments, ensuring correct quantity and type of product are loaded.
  • Prepare freight for operations accurately and timely.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Move product from staging or storage to production lines or staging docks efficiently.
  • Keep records and reports for inventory control and security.
  • Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and assist in warehouse security.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product using forklift or other power equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in clean and orderly condition.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following SOPs.
  • Maintain an active forklift certification.
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Change forklift fuel tanks as needed and perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking.
  • Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested.
  • Help maintain a safe work environment, and perform other duties as required.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business.
  • None supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in logistics, distribution, or related environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Comfortable working in unregulated warehouse temperatures within the warmer and colder months (mild to moderate).
  • Completion of a forklift training program.
  • Basic computer skills, use of RF scanners, and WMS functions.
  • English language reading, writing, and verbal skills.
  • Basic to intermediate math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptive to change and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • 1-2 years forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
Physical Demands

Occasional handling/fingering, sitting; frequent bending; constant walking and standing; ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21-50 pounds.
