RATE: $19/hour - minimum starting rate

Part time Benefits

• Must be 21 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Class C, IL CDL license with a passenger endorsement preferred.
• Experience driving large vehicles essential; includes knowledge of vehicle mechanics.
• Familiarity with driving and navigating Chicago and its suburbs highly recommended.
• Friendly, professional, and customer service oriented.
• Must pass a driver’s abstract and physical with drug screen post offer prior to beginning work.

• Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, transport adults, seniors, and special clients such as people with disabilities on day and/or overnight trips.
• Provide quality customer service and represent the District professionally.
• Assist passengers in boarding or exiting and taking attendance.
• Act as trip leader for certain trips.
• Conduct pre- and post-vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues, refuel the vehicle before each trip, and track mileage.
• Sweep the bus and empty trash after each trip.
• Ensure adherence to FVPD safety rules, DOT regulations, and IL Rules of the Road.
