Material Handler (MTH-02)
The General Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking, scanning, labeling, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This individual counts and inspects product and notifies leadership of damages or discrepancies. Associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will perform duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, and comply with all corporate and site policies.
Responsibilities- Picking — Use a pallet jack to accurately pick orders, stage products, and prepare items for client requirements. Stack, package, band, shrink wrap and label products as specified by client SOPs.
- Quality Control — Verify products and orders meet quality standards; document and communicate damages or discrepancies. Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label as defined by SOPs.
- Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance — Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly work area. Comply with SOPs, policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS standards.
- Equipment Operation — Operate equipment safely (e.g., pallet jack), maintain equipment, and report issues. Perform basic maintenance as assigned.
- Other Duties — Overtime as needed; perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures; environment may vary with seasons.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months of warehouse/logistics/distribution experience.
- Current or prior material handling equipment (MHE) certification.
- English (reading, writing, verbal).
- Basic to intermediate math skills to verify quantities and inventory.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to work with minimal supervision; adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
- Occasionally:
Handling/Fingering, Sitting. - Frequently:
Bending. - Constantly:
Walking and standing; lift 21-50 pounds; reach above shoulder and kneel as required.
The role may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels; no instructional chemicals are routinely involved. The company provides reasonable accommodations as needed.
