- Coordinate and oversee assigned daily warehouse operational activities
- Oversee associates involved in warehousing, receiving, and shipping operations
- Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with forklift operation and certification
- Coordinate unloading inbound shipments, stacking product, picking, and staging outbound shipments
- Verify inbound and outbound paperwork and product counts
- Load orders according to designated doors and trailers
- Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
- Communicate professionally with customers by phone, electronically, or in person
- Prepare activity reports for site management
- Perform quality control checks, report damages and discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
- Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
- Participate in quality and safety meetings
- Execute safety protocols and comply with ISO, OSHA/MSDS, corporate, site-specific, and SOP requirements
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, orderly work areas, and warehouse security
- Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll-hour records
- Assist the Supervisor with workforce levels and participate in establishing work schedules
- Ensure schedules and job assignments are effectively implemented and completed
- Initiate action and recommend solutions for product, process, and quality-system nonconformities
- Operate and maintain material-handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and related equipment
- Inspect equipment daily and perform minor maintenance; report equipment problems
- Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
- Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Basic computer skills
- RF scanner proficiency
- WMS functions
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and counting inventory
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all organizational levels
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Willingness to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
- Ability to walk and stand constantly, bend frequently, and reach, squat, or kneel
- Preferred: 2–4 years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment
- Preferred: 2–4 years’ proven forklift experience
- Preferred: current or prior MHE certification
- Must maintain an active forklift certification
Demonstrates expertise in warehouse operations, including material handling equipment operation, inventory management, and adherence to safety protocols. Proficient in training and mentoring associates while ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and quality control standards.
