Position Description - Production Supervisor - Fabrication

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented 3rd Shift (Weekend) Supervisor to lead the Fabrication, Powder Coating and Finishing team. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the third shift to ensure production schedules are met with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements Primary Duties
  • Lead and supervise a team for fabrication, powder coating and finishing during the 3rd Shift (Weekend), ensuring alignment with daily production goals
  • Supervises, trains, and hires personnel and manages the team ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards
  • Ensure adherence to daily production goals, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and resolve production issues, including workflow bottlenecks and equipment constraints.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members; support skills development and cross‑training efforts.
  • Monitor attendance, conduct performance reviews, and participate in hiring and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing facility
  • Ensures products meet customer specifications and quality expectations
  • Convey detailed and timely operation reports to monitor performance and inform decision‑making.
Experience & Skills
  • Preferred experience with metal fabrication or powder coating processes
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical/mechanical assembly processes.
  • Experience reading 3D Models, 2D drawings, and blueprints.
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance standards and lean principles.
  • Ability to lead employees to motivate; foster open, honest, and candid communication; and determine strengths and weaknesses.
  • Ensure all shop employees know and follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, other department managers, and senior management.
  • Must be able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in production.
  • Understand production deadlines, shipping dates and must manage their time accordingly
  • Promote excellence throughout the department
  • Provide continuous improvement in all critical activities
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information.

    Interface with other manufacturing departments, engineering, purchasing, processing, shipping and sales
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
  • OR Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing leadership role (electrical assembly or related field strongly preferred).
