Material Handler
The Material Handler is a hands‑on role responsible for supporting daily material movement across warehouse and manufacturing environments. This position requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude in a fast‑paced and evolving operation.
Material Handlers may perform a variety of tasks including picking, kitting, put‑away, Kanban replenishment, water spider support, shipping/receiving, and forklift operation. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy staying active, learning multiple processes, and contributing to team success.
Material Handlers are the backbone of materials operations. This role directly impacts production flow, safety, and customer delivery. Strong performers in this position are critical to maintaining efficiency and supporting growth.
Primary DutiesMaterial Handling & Flow
- Pick, kit, stage, and deliver materials to production and warehouse locations
- Perform put‑away and replenishment activities, including Kanban and supermarket systems
- Support water spider operations by following routes and standard work
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and material transfers as needed
Flexibility & Cross‑Training
- Rotate between multiple material handling tasks based on daily needs
- Learn and follow standard work across different materials processes
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities, layouts, or processes
Equipment Operation & Safety
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and material handling guidelines
- Report safety concerns, damaged materials, or process issues
Quality, Accuracy & Discipline
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and locations during handling activities
- Help maintain accurate material locations and labeling
- Complete required documentation or system transactions accurately
Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with other material handlers, leads, and production teams
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, or material flow
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong attendance
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Willingness to learn multiple material handling processes
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
Preferred
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Forklift or material handling equipment experience
- Basic computer or system usage experience
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods
- Comfortable performing repetitive and physical tasks
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent credentials.
