Machinist

We are seeking a skilled machinist to join our team and work on a first shift from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with the possibility of overtime on Fridays. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines, including both 3-axis and 5-axis equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong setup skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-precision components in a fast-paced machining environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines (3-axis and 5-axis).
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Load tools, set offsets, and verify program accuracy.
• Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs/offsets as needed.
• Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Work with engineering and programming teams to optimize setups.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures.

Essential Skills

• Experience with CNC machines and machining tight-tolerance components.
• Ability to perform complete machine setups independently.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Experience with common controls such as Haas, Fanuc, or similar.
• Familiarity with inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis CNC machines is a plus but not required.
• Basic editing of G-code.
• Experience with high-mix, low-volume production.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
