Senior Accountant | Manufacturing | Atlanta Metro (West)
Location: Onsite, Atlanta Metro area (west side) — candidates should live within a comfortable commute; not open to remote or long-distance commuters Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 base + 10% bonus
Employment Type: Full-time, 5 days onsite
About the OpportunityWe're partnering with a fast-growing, well-established contract manufacturer looking to find their next Senior Accountant. This company has scaled from a niche player into an industry leader, and they're known for a genuinely low-turnover, team-first culture — this is a stable, well-run finance operation, not a revolving door.
This role sits right next to the Controller as a true right-hand partner — not a transactional or AP/collections seat. You'll be trusted with real ownership over the close process, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with a clear path to influence how the function runs.
Note: This search is being conducted confidentially on behalf of our client. Company details will be shared directly with qualified candidates as the process progresses.
What You'll Own- Oversee and assist in preparing monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial statements to identify trends and translate them into actionable insight for leadership
- Perform monthly General Ledger reconciliations across bank accounts, inventory, receivables, prepaids, payables, and loan balances
- Maintain Fixed Asset balances and depreciation schedules
- Formulate, implement, and maintain internal controls that protect the accuracy and integrity of financial information
- Collaborate directly with external auditors and tax professionals to ensure compliance
- Manage relationships with auditors, financial institutions, tax authorities, and other stakeholders
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, providing meaningful financial guidance and FP&A-style insight — this is a strategic contributor role, not just a bookkeeping seat
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred but not required
- 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with a strong command of GAAP
- Manufacturing industry background required — this role needs someone fluent in inventory accounting, cost accounting, and the operational rhythm of a manufacturing environment. Backgrounds in retail, services, or purely transactional accounting will not be a fit.
- 2+ years of exposure to manufacturing and cost accounting specifically preferred
- Solid, hands-on Balance Sheet reconciliation skills
- Strong ERP proficiency and advanced Microsoft Excel skills — IQMS is a significant plus, as this is the system currently in use
- Experience with Power BI or similar BI/reporting tools
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving instincts, with the organization and attention to detail to manage multiple priorities under deadline
- A collaborative, professional, team-oriented approach — this is a close-knit finance team and culture fit matters as much as technical skill
- Previous experience at an injection molding company is a strong plus, though not required
- This is a fully onsite role, 5 days per week — not open to hybrid or remote arrangements
- Candidates should be able to comfortably commute to the west Atlanta Metro area; those significantly east, north, or south of the city will face a longer commute than the role calls for
