Project Manager, Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of structural steel erection projects from kickoff to closeout
• Review drawings, shop drawings, and specifications for constructability and scope accuracy
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with fabrication and field erection timelines
• Coordinate closely with engineers, detailers, fabricators, and field crews
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors
• Track project budgets, costs, change orders, and job profitability
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality control
• Lead project meetings with clients, GCs, and internal teams
• Resolve field issues, RFIs, and design conflicts in real time
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and company safety policies
• Maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare project reports, schedules, and financial updates for leadership

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of experience in structural steel erection, steel fabrication, or commercial construction
• Strong understanding of steel detailing, erection sequencing, and construction methods
• Experience reading and interpreting structural drawings and blueprints
• Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
• Knowledge of AISC standards and OSHA safety regulations
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

• Background in steel erection contracting or structural steel fabrication shops
• Experience working with general contractors on commercial/industrial projects
• Familiarity with BIM coordination and 3D modeling workflows
• Field experience as a superintendent, estimator, or detailer is a plus
