• Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily, from breaking stories to reported features
• Collaborate closely with editorial, audio, and social teams to ensure cohesive, timely coverage across platforms
• Identify emerging stories relevant to Black audiences and elevate them with context
• Participate in real‑time coverage during breaking news moments, coordinating closely with teammates
• Apply SEO and tagging best practices to improve discoverability of content

• 1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
• Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles, headlines, and social copy
• Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing (Photoshop or similar)
• Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
• Strong writing and editing skills with sound editorial judgment

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred, but not required with strong experience
• Genuine love of news, current events, and cultural conversation
• Experience publishing or promoting content on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, and emerging networks
• Highly organized and detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Collaborative communicator who works well across teams and disciplines
