Candidates should be competent in the latest surgical protocols in the treatment of cancer, including minimally invasive surgery, possess excellent clinical skills, and a dedication to providing quality and compassionate patient centered care.
The selected candidate will be a key team member for Wellstar’s Comprehensive Breast Health Program. The cancer program has CoC (Commission on Cancer) from the American College of Surgeons.
Responsibilities:The selected candidate will:
- Provide excellent patient care in the ambulatory and inpatient settings.
- Perform surgical procedures include mastectomies, lumpectomies, excisional biopsies, axillary surgery including sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary dissection, oncoplastic closures
- Document clinical notes in the electronic medical record. Wellstar currently uses Epic.
- At times have the opportunity to provide education to residents and medical students
- Provide appropriate call coverage
- Occasionally perform and consistently read breast ultrasounds
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified/Board Eligible with Georgia Medical License
- Fellowship trained in breast surgery
- Experience in ultrasound, and ultrasound biopsy
- Proficient in benign and malignant breast surgery including oncoplasty
