Are you a passionate educator dedicated to helping every child reach their full potential? As a Children’s Lead Teacher at Easterseals West Georgia, you will implement a comprehensive, therapeutic child development program for children with and without special needs. You aren't just teaching; you are designing individual learning experiences that build essential living skills. Working alongside our clinical and administrative teams, you will ensure every child in your classroom feels supported, included, and empowered to grow.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Instructional Leadership
Lesson Planning: Produce high-quality daily lesson plans one week in advance, incorporating art, music, literature, science, nature, and mathematics.
ISP/POC Management: Design and implement Individual Service Plans (ISP) and Plans of Care (POC). Lead the classroom in meeting specific growth and development objectives for each child.
Collaborative Planning: Work with the Children’s Director and VP of Programs to organize activities that promote socialization skills and community outings.
Student Care & Advocacy
Holistic Development: Assist children in developing healthy nutritional habits and provide physical care, including feeding, grooming, and toileting.
Observation: Closely monitor and advise leadership on any changes in a child’s behavior, health, or appearance.
Safety First: Maintain constant supervision and follow established safety standards to ensure a secure environment for all students.
Warm Environment: Greet parents, visitors, and volunteers daily to maintain a welcoming atmosphere for our families.
Administrative & Professional Standards
Documentation: Maintain accurate participant records and track progress toward developmental goals.
Compliance: Adhere to all ESWG policies, licensing standards, and accreditation requirements.
Safety Reporting: Immediately report any evidence of neglect or abuse to the Administrative Team.
Facility Care: Perform routine housekeeping to keep the classroom and outdoor areas clean, neat, and ready for learning.
QualificationsCertification:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
, equivalent, or higher degree (Required).
Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required).
Experience: Minimum of one year of related experience in a classroom or childcare setting.
Interpersonal
Skills:
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both children and adults.
Compliance: Must obtain a successful criminal background check clearance (local and fingerprint).
