- a sincere appreciation for the diversity within conservative, orthodox Christianity
- a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry or Theology with a graduate degree in these areas preferred
- effective public speaker
- an active role in a local church
- full support for MPCS's statement of faith and lifestyle expectations
- proven leadership skills and people-management skills
- proven skills in organizing and implementing ministry-related programs and services
The Assistant Director of Christian Life (ADCL)
-Community and Belonging is provided the opportunity and responsibility of ministering to students, teachers, and parents in the areas of community, belonging, mission, service, and discipleship.
The ADCL-Diversity and Belonging will assist in all aspects of Christian Life but will provide direct oversight of areas of community, culture, and diversity.
Physical Requirements:Lifting equipment, boxes and other packages not exceeding 50 pounds for males / 25 pounds for females (boxes heavier than 50 pounds should be lifted while wearing a back brace); excellent cognitive and hearing abilities
Responsibilities:- Supports the school’s mission and leadership and is active in the life and culture of the school community; will include some evenings and weekends
- Complies with conditions as stated in the employee contract, life and conduct statement, and employee handbook;
- Shows support and high esteem for MPCS.
- Models Christian behavior at all times;
- Ministers to students compassionately and sincerely so they can continue to grow in their faith;
- Accepts the work of MPCS as a personal calling and ministry
- Provide support to strategic leadership in the areas of community, belonging, spiritual development, and justice
- Plan and develop community and belonging focused education, programs, and events for faculty, students, and families.
- Assist with coordinating weekly chapel programs.
- Assist with coordination of student mentor programs; with a focus on community and belonging
- Assists with developing and implementing community service and service-learning experiences for students and employees.
- Supports with counseling and assistance those students who face physical or spiritual concerns;
- Assists CL with initiating and coordinating local, national, and international mission opportunities for students and employees; travel and student culture training will be a priority
- Coordinates efforts to link MPCS with the local faith community;
- Provides leadership in the effort to effectively immerse faith, culture, community and learning into the curriculum and pedagogy.
- Maintains a professional demeanor in dealings with students, employees, parents, and community members;
- Meets all applicable deadlines;
- Attends and contributes to all staff meetings, chapels, retreats, spiritual emphasis days, etc.
- Coordinates parent in-services, fellowship and devotional opportunities, and retreats; and,
- Any other duties as assigned.
