Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Asset Integrity Engineer, Mill Systems (Centrifugal Pumps & Lubrication)

Overview

Imagine Your First Week. You walk the mill floor before sunrise, the hum of a 24/7 operation around you. A centrifugal pump’s vibration trend catches your eye—subtle, but not normal. By mid‑morning you’ve led a quick RCPS, validated with thermography and ultrasonic checks, and updated the BOM with a corrected seal kit part number. After lunch, you sit with a project team to embed Design for Reliability on a line modification, then huddle with contractors to finalize shutdown scopes.

Before day’s end, you refresh the lubrication routes and coach a tech on reading HMI trends. That’s a snapshot of the impact you’ll make here.

Your Mission
  • Safeguard and elevate the reliability of rotating equipment across a paper mill and co‑fired boiler running around the clock.
  • Advance preventive maintenance by implementing thoughtful design changes and facility upgrades that enhance uptime.
  • Partner with and support the Maintenance Manager to achieve department objectives.
How You’ll Deliver
  • Lead RCPS and perform FMEA to preempt failure modes and remove chronic losses.
  • Develop accurate equipment BOMs and keep them current.
  • Own the rotating equipment reliability program with focus on centrifugal pumps, vibration diagnostics, mechanical seals, bearings, and lubrication excellence.
  • Lead and continuously refine the lubrication plan for the site.
  • Serve on project teams, steering decisions with a Design for Reliability perspective.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support, team leadership, and project management for installations and modifications that improve infrastructure and uptime.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute maintenance during department and mill shutdowns.
  • Direct and audit contractor work, including preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain, expand, and improve the preventive maintenance program.
  • Ensure all repair/operation practices meet regulatory requirements and prioritize mill and personnel safety.
  • Lead repairs or special projects at the Maintenance Manager’s request and assist with other duties as needed.
Must‑Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering.
  • 3+ years as a Reliability Engineer and 5+ years of related technical manufacturing support experience; pulp and paper background preferred.
  • Predictive maintenance know‑how: oil analysis, ultrasonic/sonic testing, vibration analysis, and thermography.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership skills; excellent communicator.
  • CMMS experience.
