What You Can Expect
As a Senior Gas Trader, you report to the Gas Trading Director and manage risk and trade the Northeast US Natural Gas markets for ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA). You are responsible for managing risk and resources, and identifying and executing trading opportunities in the physical and financial markets. This position requires the flexibility and willingness to cover all Northeast US Natural Gas markets within the provided jurisdictions.
You will support physical assets, loads, and other transaction types. You must possess the ability to function well in an open‑floor environment and collaborate well with team members.
- Risk manage Northeast US Natural Gas region transactions originated by EEMNA
- Provide market making to ENGIE North America retail business platform
- Work with EEMNA origination staff
- Work to develop EEMNA trading and origination strategy
- Provide senior‑level leadership in the Gas and Power trading organization
- Deploy trading capital in the Northeast US gas markets
- Provide insight into US and Northeast gas region fundamentals
- Primary portfolio manager responsible for long‑term portfolio management
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics or a similar discipline
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant US trading experience
- Ability to lead a team and provide direction to Trading and Origination staff
- Disciplined risk taker
- Excellent analytical skills
- Experience working on structured origination transactions (renewables, retail)
- Clear and effective communicator; willingness to engage in dialogue and debate with colleagues
- Can work autonomously and be flexible
- Proficient in Excel
This role is eligible for a hybrid work policy: 4 days in the office.
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
CompensationSalary Range: $158,130 – $263,550 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
