Experienced Surgical Scheduler with a strong background in Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) operations and orthopedic procedures. Skilled in coordinating high-volume surgical schedules for multiple orthopedic surgeons, ensuring optimal use of operating rooms, staff, and equipment. Proficient in verifying insurance and authorizations, obtaining necessary clearances, and accurately entering cases into scheduling systems with correct CPT/ICD-10 codes, procedure details, and implant needs.
What You'll Do- Schedule surgeries, procedures, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments per physician orders and patient needs
- Act as the primary point of contact for surgical patients, providing information and answering questions
- Coordinate with Surgical Assistants, operating rooms, and providers to ensure availability of staff, special equipment, and materials
- Confirm insurance authorizations and ensure all necessary documentation is in place
- Maintain detailed and accurate schedules in the electronic medical record system
- Collaborate with front office and clinical staff to ensure smooth transitions of care
- Enjoy helping patients feel informed and supported
- Know how to stay calm and collected when juggling multiple tasks
- Can keep calm and collected in a fast-paced medical office
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience
- Working knowledge of medical insurance and terminology
- Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management skills
- A calm, professional presence under pressure and in fast-paced settings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
