Radiation Therapist - Outpatient - PRN

Role Overview: A PRN Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department applies ionizing radiation to patients following physician prescriptions. The role involves operating radiation equipment safely, performing precise technical procedures, and delivering consistent therapy in accordance with established protocols.

• Deliver accurate radiation therapy and assess patient needs across age groups (adolescents, adults, geriatrics).
• Document procedures in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and report adverse reactions immediately.
• Educate patients and families about treatment side effects and safety measures.
• Follow safety protocols, including radiation safety badges and universal precautions.
• Participate in quality control, daily warm-up procedures, and simulation of new patients or treatment fields.
• Assist with patient mobility, manage fall precautions, and ensure proper patient set-up.
• Perform additional tasks, including participating in on-call rotations and supervising students as a clinical instructor.

• Associate's Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy program and Radiologic Technology School (JRCERT).
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Radiation Therapy.
• Required certifications: ARRT Radiation Therapy, BLS or BLS-Instructor, all certifications must be current upon hire.
• Proven ability to treat and simulate patients accurately.
