Senior Power BI Developer

TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a highly respected, century-old heavy equipment organization to identify a Senior Power BI Developer for its growing enterprise analytics team. This role will play a critical part in advancing enterprise analytics across Finance, HR, and Operations. The Senior Power BI Developer will design scalable data models, develop advanced reporting solutions, and transform complex datasets into executive-ready insights that drive strategic business decisions. This opportunity is ideal for a technical analytics professional who enjoys building enterprise-grade solutions and partnering directly with business leaders.

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions supporting Finance, HR, and Operations leadership.
• Architect and optimize star‑schema semantic models, fact tables, dimension tables, and dataflows to maximize performance and scalability.
• Develop advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and time‑intelligence calculations for financial and operational reporting.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines.
• Support ETL and data integration initiatives utilizing SQL Server and Azure‑based technologies.
• Implement and maintain Row‑Level Security (RLS) and Object‑Level Security (OLS) to ensure secure and compliant data access.
• Partner with business stakeholders to define reporting requirements, KPIs, and analytics strategies.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and automated reporting workflows.
• Optimize report performance, usability, and governance standards across the Power BI environment.
• Support enterprise data governance, reporting best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in company safety programs and perform additional duties as assigned.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, data engineering, or related disciplines.
• Power BI Expertise: 3+ years of advanced Power BI development experience, including dashboard development, data modeling, report deployment, and Power BI Service administration.
• DAX & Power Query: Expert-level proficiency with DAX and Power Query (M) for advanced calculations and complex data transformations.

  Strong experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, query optimization, and database development.
• Data Modeling: Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, semantic models, and enterprise reporting architectures.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to communicate technical concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Analytics Leadership: Experience developing scalable analytics solutions and executive-level dashboards that support strategic decision-making.
