Overview

In this position, the engineering manager will be responsible for all aspects of engineering for the service and repair of paper machine rolls. Will manage, lead and coach the engineering team to achieve local site and regional objectives and goals. Will need to manage multiple projects and allocate resources effectively, while aligning with the demands of the business and customer base.

Will foster a cooperative relationship with other key stakeholders within the region, support regional and local strategies, and meet financial goals and targets.

Responsibilities
  • Motivate and lead direct reports, communicate targets, goals, and expectations to meet site strategy and budget (25% of time spent)
  • Provide technical recommendations and support, both to internal and external customers (15% of time spent)
  • Investigate problems and lead in facilitating recommendations for improvements to ensure highest level of quality throughout product offerings and services provided (20% of time spent)
  • Evaluate workloads within department to ensure appropriate facilitation of job tasks and workload to optimize departmental efficiency (20% of time spent)
  • Develop and coach team by increasing their role knowledge, project management, and enhance skill set (20% of time spent)
  • Manage shop jobs with an emphasis on customer service, inside sales, and revenue generation
