Overview
The Assembler will construct engine components and parts for diesel engines according to established procedures and instructions. The role is responsible for reading detailed instructions and ensuring products are created efficiently and correctly. In addition, the position provides the maintenance of assembled equipment, analyzes it, and ensures any issues are dealt with accordingly. The ideal candidate possesses excellent manual dexterity while demonstrating adequate technical knowledge.
The assembler must have durable mechanical skills and stamina for long hours on their feet with solid physical strength necessary to potentially lift heavy parts during the assembly process.
- Assemble engine components onto industrial diesel engines while following all company instructions and guidelines.
- Perform assembly content specifications within a timely manner.
- Safely utilize production aid equipment to move engines and heavy parts.
- Perform tasks assigned in a team-oriented environment.
- Use care and attention when handling engine components.
- Skillfully use hand, air, and electric power tools.
- Skillfully use precision tools such as torque wrenches and power angle drivers.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic Computer Skills
- SAP Knowledge preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical tool usage
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to speak clearly and consult with management and team regarding any foreseen issues
- Strong time management with the ability to work accurately, follow instructions/schedules/timelines, and handle multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
- Strong teamwork mentality with a willingness to work with the team on accomplishing overall department goals
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry weights up to 50 lbs
Continuous exposure to typical engine manufacturing environments. No A/C. All positions require using Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and face masks.
Travel and Education- Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 0-10% depending on business needs
- High school education or similar formal education
- Strong attention to detail with a results-driven approach
- Minimum 1-year experience in a manufacturing (assembly) environment
- Ability to use various measurement and inspection devices and tools, including hand, air, electric power, torque wrenches, and power angle drivers
- Strong assembly experience
- Mathematical Ability:
Work with concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations - Reasoning Ability:
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with multiple variables
