Under the general direction of the Director of Nurses and Clinical Services, and the Emergency Room Physician, the RN Staff Nurse leads the nursing team in the Emergency Department, provides direct and indirect patient care; supervises and provides direction of subordinates in accordance with The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Staff member communicates with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality.
Position requires self-motivation, creativity, and capabilities to function in a semi-autonomous role within a fast pace and dynamic environment.
Minimum Level of Education
:
Education level equivalent to completion high school, and a completion of an accredited registered nursing program.
Formal Training
:
Registered Nursing program.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
:
Must have and maintain a State of Georgia Registered Nurses License, Basic Healthcare BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NIHSS certification. Or obtain within 3 months of employment. TNCC preferred
Work Experience
:
Preferred two (2) years of critical care or emergency nursing. EMT and Paramedic experience may be used to satisfy the 2 years of work experience preferred.

:
Calculator, personal computer, telephone, facsimile machine, paper shredder, copier, printer, standard nursing equipment (IV Pumps, Glucometers, syringes, monitors, etc.)
