Work Responsibilities- Working across all 3 PACU areas
- 3/12’s – 10 AM – 10:30 PM
- One shift will always be a Friday
- Two shifts will vary
- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence‑based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and ensuring individualized care through effective partnerships.
- Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care consistent with population‑specific characteristics and cultural diversity.
- Always partner with the patient and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching) and keep the patient’s goals the focus of the plan of care.
- Practice using current clinical standards; coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes a professional care delivery model and an inclusive environment.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, practice fiscally responsible care, and promote recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participate and support performance improvement activities, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels.
- Complete required professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, or students to ensure a current and future qualified workforce.
- Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement; participate in value analysis and data collection while consulting experts and using evidence to address practice questions.
- Uphold all health‑care system policies, procedures, competencies, and regulatory standards, ensuring alignment with TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health Systems safety absolutes.
- Proactively plan for the continuum of patient care, develop protocols and procedures, and support efficient use of human and material resources.
Minimum Education
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program (Graduated from an accredited/approved school of nursing)
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing — Preferred
- Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN – Multi‑state Compact
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Instructor
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Instructor or Provisional
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Instructor or Provisional
Additional License(s) and Certification(s)
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Required Minimum Experience
Minimum 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
Required Minimum Skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, proficiency in electronic health record documentation, and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
